the best non-sacrificial
coating for reduction in ice
adhesion. (refer to chart
from page 15 of the
following report)

Ice adhesion to cold rolled steel in aluminum is generally in the range
of 200 lbs/in2. After painting the metal with conventional polyurethane or
alkyd paints, the ice adhesion was in the range of 150 lbs/in2.
Ice adhesion to a sacrificial coating, ICE-X, was recorded as 8-10 lb/
in2.
Ice adhesion to a non-sacrificial Wearlon Super F-1 coating was in the
range of 15-20 lb/ in2.
