Wearlon PM2020.98
- Medium Silicone Topcoat
The heart of the Wearlon
System
Two component, water base, room temperature cure,
abrasion resistance, with lubricity and non-stick properties. Meets EPA, USDA
and FDA 21 CFR 175.300 Requirements.
Wearlon chemistry grafts silicone molecules to epoxy
molecules, thereby distributing the silicone throughout the epoxy matrix.
Silicone is the non-stick, hydrophobic, lubricious component. Epoxy is the
hardness, adhesion component.
Wearlon PM2020.98 is used where non-stick as well as high
abrasion resistance is required. With its high cross link density this product
is excellent for dusty applications and as a decontamination coating for the
Nuclear Industry. PM2020.98 is also the choice coating for equipment that
requires extensive cleaning found in the Pulp and Paper Industry.
Wearlon PM4545.76
- High Silicone Topcoat Two component, water base, room temperature cure,
abrasion resistance, lubricity with increased non-stick properties compared to
PM2020.98. Meets EPA, USDA and FDA 21 CFR 175.300 Requirements.
Wearlon PM4545.76 is slightly softer than PM2020.98 but
with increased silicone to provide greater non-stick properties. It is the
coating of choice for many applications in the Pulp And Paper and Adhesive Industries.
Wearlon PM4545.76 AG -
Anti-Graffiti Topcoat
Two component, water base, room temperature cure, with
non-toxic properties. Meets EPA, USDA and FDA 21 CFR 175.300 Requirements.
Wearlon chemistry grafts silicone molecules to epoxy
molecules, thereby distributing the silicone throughout the epoxy matrix.
Silicone is the non-stick, hydrophobic, lubricious component. Epoxy is the
hardness, adhesion component.
Wearlon PM4545.76 AG is suitable for a variety of
applications for the discouragement of Graffiti and the easy clean of industrial
soiling. The coating adheres readily to a variety of substrates including
concrete, wood, plastic, fiberglass, stainless steel, metal and over most
existing paints and coatings.
This pigmented version comes in the standard color of
Ivory. Other colors are available to match your application.

Wearlon 711 / 722
- Anti-Graffiti CLEAR Topcoat
Wearlon 711 - Two component, water base, room temperature
cure, with easy clean properties. Wearlon 711 is an acrylic polyester emulsion.
A 5% addition of an acid catalyst #3 to the Wearlon 711 is required to achieve
room temperature cure. Wearlon 711 is an extremely hard, transparent, UV
resistant coating.
Most graffitied surfaces may be wiped clean with a damp
sponge. For surfaces that have been spray painted or marked with a permanent
marker, Wearlon suggests the use of a mild alkali detergent while scrubbing with
a nylon brush. Conventional household cleaners are quite effective at removing
stains. For large areas, a power brush spray system with a diluted alcohol
water solution or the use of conventional paint thinner such as mineral spirits
is recommended.
Wearlon 722 - One component, water base, room temperature
cure, with excellent adhesion. Meets EPA, USDA and FDA 21 CFR 175.300
Requirements. Wearlon 722 is an air dry, water base polyester with excellent
hardness, flexibility, chemical and abrasion resistance. Base Coat 722 has
excellent UV resistance, permitting its use in interior and exterior coating
applications. Wearlon recommends using Base Coat 722 applied at 1 mil d.f.t.
before application of Wearlon 711.

Wearlon Super
F1-Icephobic Two component, water base, room
temperature cure, grafted silicone epoxy with increased silicone that enhances
the non-stick Icephobic properties. Meets EPA, USDA and FDA 21 CFR 175.300
Requirements.
Designed for end users that require more
non-stick situations without heavy abrasion. Excellent for roof edges, bridges,
communication towers, tractor trailer roofs etc. where ice build up has been a
problem.
- Non-stick - Low surface energy reduces adhesion ability of a
wide range of substrates.
- Lubricity - The inherent slip of the polymer is reduced
compared to PM4545.76.
- Adhesion
- Adheres tenaciously to a wide range of
substrates.
- Durability - Maintenance friendly, easy to clean surface.
- Environmentally Friendly - Low V.O.C., a water base system, lead free,
non-toxic, non-leaching, free from known carcinogens.

Wearlon Super F1-M
- Marine Topcoat

Two component, water base, room temperature cure, grafted
silicone epoxy with increased silicone and boosted hardness that enhances the
non-stick, easy clean biofouling properties. Meets EPA, USDA and FDA 21 CFR
175.300 Requirements.
Designed for end users that require more non-stick, easy
clean, biofouling above and below water. i.e.: Ideal for Boat bottoms.
- Non-stick - This improved
chemistry greatly reduces biofouling and coupled with the angle of contact to
the water will improve speed and fuel consumption on a boat when applied as a
bottom coating.
- Lubricity - The inherent
slip of the polymer is reduced compared to PM4545.76 topcoat.
- Adhesion - Adheres
tenaciously to a vide range of substrates.
- Durability-
Maintenance friendly, easy to clean surface.
- Environmentally Friendly -
Low V.O.C., a water base system, lead free, non-toxic, non-leaching, free from
known carcinogens.

Wearlon Speed
Coat-49
Speed
Coat-49 is a silicone epoxy having unique properties when in contact with water.
It is extremely hydrophobic having surface properties approaching that of
dimethyl silicones, i.e., 22 dynes/cm surface tension and contact angles with
water of 100°. Speed Coat-49 is perfectly suited for marine applications
allowing for an easy cleaning of surfaces while supplying reduced drag
resistance through the water. Experiments at a leading university have
demonstrated Speed Coat-49 reduced drag resistance with water that previously
could only be obtained with dimethyl-silicones while having the abrasion
resistance of that obtained with epoxies. Glass surfaces coated with Speed
Coat-49 have demonstrated a 1.62% reduction in drag resistance for water. A
typical epoxy that is used as a marine coating demonstrated a drag penalty of 21
to 23 percent, while Speed Coat-49 under the same conditions resulted in a
maximum drag reduction of -4.25 percent. The low surface energy allows for easy
removal of algae and grass and very weak adhesion of living organisms such as
barnacles. Speed Coat-49 with these properties allows more water to flow through
a given area, which is especially rewarding in the hydroelectric and marine
facilities. Speed Coat-49 can be manufactured as an electrically non-conductive
coating, Êconceivably avoiding galvanic corrosion associated with anti-fouling
paints on aluminum boats or components.
Wearlon Super
F-3M
This
coating is similar to Super F-1M, but with improved abrasion properties. Super
F-3M, according to an independent testing laboratory, has tremendous water
shedding properties and is spectacular in its hydrophobic properties, even
approaching that which is achieved with paraffin wax. Both Super F-1M and Super
F-3M have applications in waste water treatment facilities.
Wearlon Super
F-4
Though
this coating has a lower silicone functionality than the other Super F series of
coatings, it is the hardest of all Wearlon coatings.
- Pencil hardness - 2H
- Hydrophobic Drop Trail - excellent (5 rating).
- No electrical conductivity
- Completeness of cure - good
- Flexibility (bar mandrel) - pass 1 1/2 inches
- Impact test
